Scholarships
The following
scholarships are made available to the deserving students by the central/State
Government.
(i) National Scholarship:
Students passing annual Higher secondary Examination in Arts/Science /Commerce
streams and securing 60% marks or above in the aggregate excluding the extra
optional, may apply to the Secretary, Council of Higher Secondary Education,
Bhubaneswar, Orissa, in a prescribed proforma obtainable from the office of the
principal, Student enjoying national Scholarship at Post-Matric stage need not
apply. For National Scholarship of Post-Matric students are advised to send
their application to the Secretary, Board of Secondary Education, Orissa. The
other eligibility conditions are same as stated above. Deserving students are
selected by the government on merit basis.
ii) National Loan Scholarship:
Students who have passed the qualifying examination with 50% or more marks in
aggregate (excluding extra opt.) may apply in a prescribed application form to
the Director. Higher Education, Bhubaneswer, Orissa on or before the last data
prescribed by the Director. The application forms are available free of cost
from the college office. Those students whose parent’s annual income is more
then Rs. 25000/-are not eligible for the award. Further, students who are in
full time employment are also not eligible for this scholarship.
iii) Junior/Senior Merit Scholarship :
Only the regular students who have passed H.S.C./C.B.S.C. (for junior
scholarship) and Higher Secondary in Arts/Science/Commerce stream (for senior
scholarship) in the first appearance and have secured 60% marks or more (for
junior scholarship) and 50% marks or more (for senior scholarship) in aggregate
excluding extra optional are eligible to apply irrespective of the income of
their parents. Students passing in supplementary examination or as
private/ex-regular candidates are not eligible for award. The value of the
junior college merit scholarship is Rs. 40/- per month and is tenable for a
period of 24 month. The value of senior college merit scholarship is Rs.50/- per
month & is tenable for a period of 36 months. The prescribed application form is
available free of cost from the college office and should be submitted to the
Principal on or before 30th October every year.
iv) Post-Graduate Merit Scholarship :
Students passing +3 Degree Examination as regular student with Honours/Distinction
from Utkal/Sambalpur/Berhampur University and prosecuting Post-Guaduate studies
in the State of Orissa may apply for the P.G. Merit scholarship to the Director,
Higher Education, Bhubaneswer, Orissa through the Principal. The application
form may be obtained from the college office.
v) Post-Matric Hindi Scholarship :
Students whose mother tongue is not Hindi and who belong to non-Hindi speaking
state/union territory may apply for the Post Matric Hindi Scholarship to the
Director, Higher Education, Bhubaneswar, through the Principal on or before the
31st August every year subject to the following conditions. Hindi should have
been taken as a regular subject in present course as per the regulation of the
concerned Board/University. Recipient of the above scholarship is not debarred
from receiving any other scholarship irrespective of terms and conditions of
that scholarship. The eligible candidates should apply in the prescribed form
obtainable from the College Office.
vi) Merit Scholarship for teacher’s sons:
This scholarship is only for the children of Primary and Secondary school
teachers subject to the following: The student must have passed the H.S.C.
Examination or its equivalent in a single attempt in 1st division securing at
least 60% marks in aggregate excluding extra optional. This scholarship is
payable to the selected candidates till he/she completes the Post-Graduate
studies subject to satisfactory progress of the scholar from time to time. The
application form may be obtained from the college office & students are advised
to submit the same to the Deputy Director (Scholarship), Bhubaneswar through the
Principal on or before the last data.
vii) Govt. of Orissa/India Scholarship for disabled Students:
Students who are physically handicapped may apply for the above scholarship. The
application form and other information are available from the District Social
Welfare Office. However, the application should be submitted to the concerned
authority through the Principal.
viii) Post Matric Scholarship for S.C. & S.T. Students:
Student belonging to S.C. and S.T. and whose parent’s annual income is less than
Rs. 24000/- may apply for the above scholarship. The application forms are
available in the college office and the application should be submitted to the
appropriate authority through the Principal of the college.
