Panchayat Collage, Bargarh is affiliated to the Sambalpur University to
prepare candidates for the following examinations.
Bacheler’s Degree in Arts, Science & Commerce (Pass and Hons.)

A pass student shall offer one pass subject of
400 marks in addition to compulsory and Elective papers. Each student
shall offer two elective subjects. Each elective subject shall consist
of two papers each carrying 100 marks. Subject with practical component
shall have 75% theory and 25% practical. Subject Available:

A candidate in B.A (Hons.) shall offer a honours subject carrying 800
marks and two elective subjects besides compulsory Subjects. Each elective
subject shall consist of two papers each carrying 100 marks. Subject with
practical component shall have 75% theory and 25% practical.
Honours course is available in the following subjects;
English (16), Oriya (16), History (16), Economics (32), Psychology (16),
Political Science (16), Sanskrit (16), Education (16) and Hindi (16).
Electives:
A candidate (Honours or Pass) shall choose two elective subjects, each
carrying 200 marks (without any practical component) from among the following
subjects.
Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Landmarks in Indian History, Science and
Technology, Mathematics, Psychology, Provided that a student (Honours
or Pass) offering Political Science, Economics, History, Mathematics and
Psychology as one or more pass or Honours subject (s) shall not be allowed
to take Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Landmarks in Indian History, Mathematics
and Psychology respectively as his/her elective paper(s).
B. Sc. Three year Degree Course

400 marks besides compulsory and elective papers. Subjects with practical
shall have 25% Practical and 75% Theory. There shall be two elective,
one major carrying200 marks with papers of 100marks each and one minor
carrying 100 marks.

A B. Sc. (Hons.) student shall choose as Honours
subject carrying 800 marks, one pass subject carrying 400 marks, one minor
elective carrying 100 marks and one major elective of 200 marks consisting
of two papers each carrying 100 marks besides compulsory papers. Subject
(s) with practical shall carry 75% theory and 25% practical.
Honours is available in the following subjects

Minor Elective Papers:
In Science (both Honours and Pass), a student
with Life Science (botany/Zoology etc.) as pass or Honours shall take
one Minor Elective Paper on ‘Mathematics and Statistics for Biology
student’ carrying 100 marks where as the other students (of Physical
Sciences) shall take “Biology for Physical Sciences students”
as minor Elective carrying 100 marks.
Major Elective Papers:
A B. Sc. Student shall choose one subject as Major
Elective from among the following subjects carrying 200marks with two
papers of 100 marks each (without any practical component).
a) For students of Botany and Zoology : Chemistry
b) For students of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics a student (Hons.
Or Pass) having Physics, Chemistry or mathematics as Hons. Or Pass shall
not be allowed to offer corresponding subject as major elective paper.

Dropping Honours course: -
A candidate taking Honours course initially in
a subject may choose in writing to drop the Honours course and adopt the
pass course in the same subject at the time of submitting is application
for the First Examination or earlier and he/She then appear subsequent
examination.
Change of Subjects: -
A candidate who has been admitted in the college
with particular subject (s) or combination of subjects may be allowed
to change subjects or combination of subjects by the Principal till thirty
days after the last data of admission into first year course.
M. Com 16 seats
Examination will be held in four papers, for each
part, each paper carrying 100 marks and of four hours duration.
There shall be a Viva Voce Examination on the field report project report
M.A. (Oriya) 16 Seats
M.A. (Political Science) 8 Seats
M.A./M.Sc. (Mathematics) 8 Seats
There shall be eight papers in the subject. Each paper shall be of 4 hours
(excepting the 9th paper of group-B) duration and shall carry 100 marks.
The M.A. (Part-I) consists of first four papers and M.A. (Part-II) consists
of rest of the four papers There will, however, be 10 papers for Mathematics,
M. A./M.Sc. including practical.
